At 7am (ish) I was told that the ENTs wanted to remove my trumpets today. Normally they keep them in for 3 days, so I told them I'm happy to stay as cautious and conservative as needed to allow for more healing time. Let's not rush the stubborn CSF leak or piss it off any....
I'm starting to think it's running the show....... (maybe it somehow knew that I've been checking my work email, and that I originally thought I could get back to working a few hours a week starting May 25???)...... I'm thinking it's got other plans for me...... seriously!!!!!! Like um, sleeping more that 2-3 hours at a time!!
I'm trying my best to listen to what I need to hear, and let things organically happen. I just hope it organically happens soon so I can be with the kids again and actually SHOWER!!
So the trumpets stay until at least tomorrow, which is the traditional 3-day course. They will get u unscrewed out of my nose (that's how imagine it at least), and I will breathe freely!
If no leaks from the nose, then we start talking about clamping off the Lumbar Drain for 1-2 days to make sure there's no leak, THEN if no leaks, then I can finally maybe leave the hospital!
Really, what a ride so far!!
Our bodies just don't listen sometimes. Good for you for not letting them pull them out prematurely.
