I just came back from the Orthopedics office... after some more 'bloodletting', and a very worried expression on Dr. Scott's face, some condolences, I was informed that I need a secondary surgery to clean out the infection. Hopefully, it's a surface infection and it will be easy enough to clean out, with no consequences. However, if it's an infection within the joint, that requires a longer healing time, it will push back my upcoming surgery that's scheduled on October 21st - a mere 18 days away. As much as I truly need (and want) to have my uterus yanked out - I am not sure I can handle the risk of any more complications! I guess it's just another bump in the road to recovery and freedom.
People ask my why I would put myself through even more surgeries this year, especially after Operation Pea Pod Extraction.... FREEDOM.
Freedom to move painlessly, freedom to go on hikes without swelling, freedom to walk, freedom to go skiing again, freedom to be able to not worry about where the bathroom is because I'm on my period, the freedom to be able to vacation worry free (see previous), freedom to spend a day on the beach, freedom to plan a vacations (right now, an 8 hour drive could mean 4+ stops), freedom to go anywhere, with anyone, without having to make excuses and explain things, and freedom to move away from some of the judgemental looks that I get from people when I mention my limitations, freedom to not talk about this crap anymore .... So, next time you (the reader) or anyone else asks me why.... that's my answer:

Oh my gosh Bella... You need to tell the Universe, this is not what you meant!!! Love, hugs and healing energy coming your way {(*_*)}
